Midlands Flood Recovery Group

Who We Are

The Midlands Flood Recovery Group was formed in November 2015 to coordinate with federal, state, county, and city personnel, as well as nonprofit and volunteer organizations to provide assistance to individuals and families in the Midlands that lack the personal resources to rebuild their homes after the flood. Midlands Flood Recovery Group serves Richland and Lexington Counties.

What We Do

  • Provides 211 Call In System for individuals and families in the Midlands to have  Hearts and Hands Disaster Recovery (H&H) intake information on each case.
  • Case Managers are assigned for each case who will find the appropriate resources for meet unmet needs.
  • Member volunteer agencies do the hard work of providing various types of unmet needs:
    • Provide for supplies, replacement furnishings, and other needs
    • Repair damaged homes which include minor and major repairs including mold remediation.
    • Replace homes that are too damaged to efficiently make repairs
    • Provide living expenses while homes are being repaired
    • Provide emotional support
    • Other needs as appropriate.
