Midlands Reading Consortium

Just 30 minutes a week can be the difference between whether a child advances to the next grade or even graduates on time from high school. We need your help to make that difference!

The Midlands Reading Consortium (MRC) is a volunteer tutoring initiative targeting Pre-K through 2nd grade students. Tutors focus on improving language skills and reading proficiency with MRC providing all of the training and tutoring materials needed.

One of United Way's goals is to close the achievement gap and ensure that all students perform at grade level. This program was created for everyone - working professionals, retirees, college students - anyone that can take a short break during their week to volunteer!
