Who We Are
An old African proverb states "It takes a village to raise a child." At the Orangeburg Area Boys and Girls Club of America, we offer that village and much more. Our kids develop a moral compass and strong character to make positive life choices. We are committed to helping develop the next generation of strong leaders.
What We Do
Programs offered:
- Smart Move: Prevention/education addresses problems such as drug and alcohol use and premature sexual activity.
- Smart Leaders Fan Club: Booster Program of Smart Moves and Stay Smart.
- Passport to Manhood: Promotes and teaches responsibility.
- Career Lunch: Career exploration and mentoring program.
- Keystone Club: Teen program focus on leadership development which provides opportunities.
- Torch Club: Small leadership groups of boys and girls.
- On Stage & TNT Drama Matters: Encourages members to engage in hands-on activities. Promoting self-confidence, creativity and boosts academic achievement.
- Money Matters & Personal Finance: Learning to manage a checking account, budgeting, saving, investing, entrepreneurship, and paying for college.
- Smart Girls: Health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement. Prevention/education teaches the onset of alcohol, other drug use and early sexual involvement.
- National Photography: Members learn and practice photography skills.
- Project Learn: Reinforces the academic enrichment.
- Power Hour: Strategies, activities, resources promoting self-directed learners through homework, tutoring and mentoring.
- Net Smart: Teaches internet safely through engaging multimedia activities and offline interaction with club professionals.
- Wanna Play: Encourages members to increase their overall fitness, through physical activity and nutrition while playing.
- Triple Play: Encourages members to increase their overall fitness, through physical activity and nutrition while playing.
- Healthy Habits: Designed to incorporate healthy living and active learning in every part of club experience through good nutrition, regular physical activity and improving overall well-being.
