During this event we will be sharing words of hope and encouragement while providing new shoes/socks to children in the community.
“Samaritan’s Feet serves and inspires hope in children by providing shoes as the foundation to a spiritual and healthy life resulting in the advancement of education and economic opportunities.”
The Samaritan’s Feet Shoe Distribution, in partnership with BB&T, will be held on November 3rd, Saturday, at Edward E. Taylor Elementary School, 200 McRae St. Columbia, SC 29203 (an MRC school!). Volunteers should arrive by 9 a.m. to go over logistics, and be prepared by 10 a.m. to either wash each shoe recipient’s feet, run back and forth to get fresh water or get new socks and shoes for each youth and encourage them at about 30 different stations that are set-up. They are in need of 75 volunteers on the day of the event. Volunteers are needed between 9 am – 1 pm.
There will be many different areas to serve at this event (foot washing, shoe room, water replenishment, etc.) and assignments will be made at the event depending on the number of volunteers in attendance (as well as preferences). Please plan to arrive at the designated start time for volunteer training. Bilingual volunteers are especially appreciated! Thanks to the generosity of BB&T, 350 students will receive brand new shoes and socks!
