Join Transitions Homeless Center to feed meals to our residents. Transitions relies on the dedicated efforts of volunteers to serve meals to our clients every day of the year, whether for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Each shift lasts just 1.5 hours. With each meal served, you will directly impact the lives of our clients
Parking: 2025 Main Street, Columbia, South Carolina 29201. You will enter through the gate located at the corner of Calhoun and Main Streets.
Parking Information:
- Lunch shift volunteers:
- Please use nearby street metered parking or local parking garages.
- Breakfast & Dinner shift volunteers:
- You may park in available spaces in our lot or use metered street parking.
Upon arrival, please:
- Enter through the front entrance.
- Inform our staff that you are here to volunteer in the kitchen.
- Pick up a volunteer sticker from the lobby.
- Proceed to the Day Center kitchen.
All personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided, including gloves, aprons, and hairnets. A baseball cap may be worn in place of a hairnet if preferred. Our kitchen staff will provide instructions and assign positions for each volunteer upon arrival.
