This month's cleanup kicks off the Great American Cleanup® and will feature a competition between municipalities to see who can pick up the most litter! Join KMB to cleanup George Rogers Blvd. in the City of Columbia and Shop Rd. in Richland County for a friendly, "clean competition" with snacks and prizes.
Important: All volunteers who sign up for the event will receive an email with the exact meet up location, so look out for any emails!
We will begin our safety briefing and supply handout at 9am and finish around 12pm
If you want to participate in the GAC kickoff event, register here. You and/or your team will be eligible for prizes and the town/city/county that removes the most litter per volunteer will win a 'traveling trophy' to display for one year.
The Great American Cleanup® is a nationwide initiative by Keep America Beautiful and is the nation’s largest community improvement program that creates positive change and lasting impact in local communities. It takes place from the first day of spring (March 20, 2023) to the first day of summer (June 21, 2023).
