Who We Are

Boys Farm was founded in 1960 by Reverend and Mrs. W. D. Shealy, Jr. (Pop & Mama). Preparation for this work was begun many years before in Charleston, SC, where the Shealy's were owners of a large, successful ice cream business. When they felt called into Christian ministry they sold their home and business and went off to college.

As the couple sought God's direction, He led them to establish a home for disadvantaged boys. They bought the current site with their own resources and began the work to which God had called them.

Over the years, hundreds of boys have been helped at Boys Farm. The vision and love of Pop and Mama Shealy have touched countless lives.

What We Do

Boys Farm supports families from throughout the southeast and beyond by providing a safe and secure home for children whose families or guardians are unable to sufficiently support or provide for their child's care.  We offer long-term comprehensive care in traditional single-family homes with full-time house parent couples.

We work closely with parents and guardians to maintain and develop healthy family bonds, heal wounds, and restore relationships.
