Who We Are

Mission Our Mission is to provide safe and nurturing environment to foster care youth and help them become productive citizens within their community. Butterfly’s Den is a bridge to assist young adults with transitioning from the care of the system to caring for themselves. Vision We thrive to empower youth aging out of the foster care system to overcome life obstacles and lead fulfilling and productive lives.

What We Do

The Butterfly’s Den G.E.N.T.S Independent living Program will empower young men ages 16-19 who are in the foster care system. Building on youth’s strengths and positive values utilizing the Youth Development model, The G.E.N.T.S program will help youth to make smart, safe and healthy choices, encouraging education goals and make a healthy transition into adulthood. One of the projects that we've implemented to assist with the transition process of foster youth is prepare Love Bins. These bins will include items that the youth will need for their next step in their journey such as toiletries, dorm room needs, school supplies, cleaning supplies, and other items specific to the track they will be pursuing. It will give them that much needed jump start to reaching their goals. We had the pleasure donating college bins and preparing homemade lasagna to palmetto place Childrens shelter on July 20, 2018. May 12, 2017, we had the opportunity to host an ice cream party at palmetto place children's shelter. In addition to having ice cream we were able to leave each kid with a shower caddy full of toiletries. We were able to provide ice cream with all the toppings, soft drinks, chips and give each individual caddies because of the community donations near and far. In fact, we received so many donations we were able to go back to the shelter and issue each high school graduate with gift cards.
