Everyday Living is a hands-on interactive training program that develops independent living skills among individuals ages 13 - 20 with intellectual and developmental disabilities in order to promote confidence and self-efficacy. In this unique program, members from the community will train participants in home skills and other tasks necessary for independent living.
Some of the topics that will be covered include: Safety (community safety, kitchen safety, internet safety, fire safety), Finances, Healthy Living, Cleaning/Housekeeping, Cooking, and Relationships. Volunteers assist with the lesson and conducting activities that reinforce the topic.
Lessons will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:00am - 10:30am. You can choose to volunteer on Tuesdays only, Thursdays only, or both days! It is an 8-week program, starting on Tuesday, June 20th and concluding on Thursday, August 10th.
