Description

Everyday Living is a hands-on interactive training program that develops independent living skills among individuals ages 13 - 20 with intellectual and developmental disabilities in order to promote confidence and self-efficacy. In this unique program, members from the community will train participants in home skills and other tasks necessary for independent living.
 
Some of the topics that will be covered include: Safety (community safety, kitchen safety, internet safety, fire safety), Finances, Healthy Living, Cleaning/Housekeeping, Cooking, and Relationships. ​Volunteers assist with the lesson and conducting activities that reinforce the topic.
 
Lessons will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:00am - 10:30am. You can choose to volunteer on Tuesdays only, Thursdays only, or both days! It is an 8-week program, starting on Tuesday, June 20th and concluding on Thursday, August 10th
 
Lessons will take place in The Arc of South Carolina's Everyday Living Space, located behind our main office: 1208 Indigo Avenue, Cayce, SC 29033.Volunteers will receive a free t-shirt!
