Blitz Build Week (1yr Flood Anniversary)

SBP is a non-profit organization that rebuilds homes that have been damaged or destroyed by natural disasters. We moved into Columbia, SC after the devastating floods from last year's once -in-a-thousand-year storm. We are partnering with local organizations to host a "Blitz Build Week" on the week of 10/17-10/22 to commemorate the anniversary of the floods. There will be media and various members of the community involved. We need as many volunteers as we can get for this week.

We have a wide range of things that we do for our clients. Some of the things you might work on include:

• Gutting /demo

• Mold remediation

• Framing

• Insulation

• Drywall

• Mudding/spackling

• Flooring

• Baseboards

• Exterior and interior painting

• Using extension ladders

• Lead removal (not for groups with anyone under 18)

Sometimes we have odd jobs like fencing, french drains and whatever else we can do to help our clients get one step closer to coming home! Please let your volunteer coordinator know if you have any allergies, or medical concerns or any general questions about the type of work we do at SBP or how we make each of these activities as safe as possible.
