The Midlands Reading Consortium (MRC) is a partnership between United Way of the Midlands and school districts across Richland, Lexington and Newberry counties.
We are currently looking for a guest reader at our end of year celebration for Harbison West Elementary. Our event is scheduled for Monday, April 24th at 1:30 pm and will celebrate the accomplishments of our dedicated volunteers and students. This year our theme for the celebration is “on your mark, get set….read!”. We would like for the guest reader(s) to come dressed in a favorite team t-shirt or jersey and read to a group of 15-20 students and their volunteers. We would provide a pre-selected book and a list of questions for you to engage with the students.
The guest reader(s) is also welcome to stay and assist students choose books for the summer. We will be sending students home with 5-6 books to add to their home libraries.
