Transitions depends on volunteers to help us serve meals to our clients every day of the year. Multiple volunteers are needed for every breakfast, lunch, and dinner shift to help serve anywhere from 150 to 250 meals to our grateful clients. Meal shifts are 1.5 hours, and most volunteers typically serve a meal shift once a week or once a month, but one-time opportunities are sometimes available as well. Volunteers interested in this position are expected to wear long pants, no exposed underarms, closed-toe shoes, and a smile!

Dress Code
· Wear comfortable closed toe shoes.
· No sandals or flip flops – please wear closed toed shoes!
· No shorts or skirts.
· No sleeveless shirts.
· Wear a baseball cap. Otherwise, a hairnet will be required and provided.
· Use good judgment and dress appropriately.
Parking
Volunteers can park in the parking lot at Christ Central on the backside of the block near Ebenezer Lutheran Church and walk across the street to Transitions. Please be mindful of your surroundings and be careful crossing the street. There are also parking meters nearby on Calhoun Street and Main Street.
Upon arrival the door to the entrance may be locked; just knock and the security guard will let you in. Please sign in with security at the front, and he or she will direct you where to go from there. The building where you will be serving dinner is the one directly behind the entrance building. You will need to walk through the courtyard and then once you enter the building, go to the second door to the kitchen. If the doors are locked, just knock and a Salvation Army employee will let you in. Be sure to sign-in again in the office off of the kitchen. It is very important that you sign in and out so that Transitions can capture our volunteer hours for grants and annual reports.

If no one answers Extension 222 please call 708-4861 Ext 221 for security and a guard will allow entry.
Volunteers will need to sign in and out at the front security desk.
